Scania Truck Driving Simulator: The Game is a truck simulator game developed by SCS Software for Microsoft Windows and macOS. It was released as a promotional product for the later-published Euro Truck Simulator 2 on 8 June 2012.
Gameplay[edit]
The game allows players to drive a licensed Scania PRT-rangeheavy-duty truck under five different game modes. The Driver License mode features various driving trials such as parking and manoeuvring with a standard trailer, which allows players to enhance their basic truck-driving skills. The Competition mode highly simulated Scania's Young European Truck Driver championship, where players can virtually participate in the competition by levels. The Dangerous Drives mode offers multiple scenarios to test players' abilities to drive a truck, ranging from driving through cliffs to reversing free of parking lots with a trailer. The Freeform Driving mode provides players with two sizable maps — one is the Scania proving grounds of Södertälje, the other is a fictional European city — both allowing players to enjoy ETS-2-liked deliver journeys. Time Reaction Test mode is designed to test players' reactions when they are in emergencies in four different scenarios. The game also contains several video clips and photos featuring with the success of Scania in all kinds of fields.
Development and release[edit]
The game was revealed in April 2012 via the blog of the game developerSCS Software.[1] The game was developed by their in-house game enginePrism3D and holds the official license of Scania's Young European Truck Driver championship, allowing players to drive a highly detailed Scania PRT-rangeheavy-duty truck.[2] It was published to Europe by Excalibur Publishing on 8 June 2012, and later available on Steam after being greenlit.[3]
Reception[edit]
Dustin Thomas of GamingShogun praised both graphics and sound of the game, but criticised the game's difficulty.[4] DaRipp3r of PixelPerfectGaming rated the game a 4 out of 5, stating '[driving through dangerous locations and completing different challenges] would be really educational for anyone who is looking for a career in motoring and the transportation of goods industry.'[5]

It DOES work on el capitan - BUT….
I have this running great on my MBP2015 in El capitan, great frame rate, graphics, etc, no question about that… BUT
there is soooo little to do in this game, compared to eurotruck sim 2, which (made by the very same) has a much bigger map (about 100x at a guesstimate) and far more trucks to choose from, customise, and missions, business etcetc alongside.
In this, you get a truck, with a few challenges that are easy to hard to complete, but there is no sense of progress, no money to be made to improve your truck, or expand business etc, this is just a game that’s essentially for people who want to park up scania trucks in tight spaces.
A Good Game But...
This game is relaxing and passes time well and the graphics are really impresive but the game can get a bit boring for example you cant accesorise your truck or even get a new truck the map is also quite small. I hope that SCS make a uptade that adds customiseable trucks. I also want SCS to consider the map size beacuse this thing has a no where near size to the map in ETS and ETS2. When i bought this game i thought it was a bit of a close match to ETS but it doesnt so i want SCS to work on this game more it can be fun but also can be boring! Thats why i give this game a 4/5 for the good graphics 2/5 for the map size and customisability so in General 4/5 so i recomend to see if you like it and then go on!

I got this game while it was on offer on the app store for £7.99 and even for that price you don’t get a good enough game as you would expect off something like ETS2.
The game looks like it has been rushed and there is not enough things to do when playing the game.
